Alba Reyes is a first-generation Dominican-American practitioner and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, fluent in English and Spanish, with a background in psychodynamic psychotherapy and school-based/school-linked mental health services. With over 20 years of experience, she has worked with children, adolescents, families, and adults across various settings, including in-home, schools, and clinics. Her specialty areas include depression, anxiety, grief/loss, race, cultural identity, life transitions, acculturation, PTSD/trauma, women's issues, relationship and communication struggles, and meditation, with a particular interest in adolescent mental health, BIPOC, and Latinx culture. Her practice focuses on promoting the psychological and social well-being of individuals, with an emphasis on culturally empowering approaches. Ms. Reyes aims to deliver culturally and linguistically sensitive, trauma-informed, and client-centered services, utilizing evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, ACT, TF-CBT, and MBCT. Her culturally conscious approach, informed by her lived experience, enables her to provide culturally empowering mental health support, characterized by cultural responsiveness and anti-oppressive practices. As an empathic, caring, and compassionate individual, Ms. Reyes serves with a listening ear and a non-judgmental attitude. She holds a master's degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and a bachelor's degree from Fordham University, and is currently licensed in New York, New Jersey, Florida, West Virginia, Utah, Minnesota, and Missouri.
